National Shoe the World Day is celebrated on March 15th. This day marks the importance of shoes for those who cannot afford them or have access to them. To commemorate this day, the City of Fort Lauderdale is partnering with Loving Soles, a student-led non-profit organization to collect new and gently worn shoes.
The collection will run from March 15th – March 31, 2023, with bins placed at six City facilities.The public can drop off gently worn shoes at the following locations:
- City Hall Lobby – 100 N Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, 33301
- Holiday Park – 1150 G Harold Martin Drive, Fort Lauderdale, 33304
- Beach Community Center – 3351 NE 33rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, 33308
- Southside Cultural Arts Center – 701 S Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, 33316
- Fort Lauderdale Police Department – 1300 W Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33312
- Fort Lauderdale Fire Department Station 2 - 528 NW 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale 33301
All shoes will be donated to Broward Partnership for the Homeless.
