Adopt-a-Shoreline

The City of Fort Lauderdale invites neighbors, civic associations, businesses and organizations to help preserve the natural beauty of our waterways. The Adopt-a-Shoreline Program is more than a cleanup initiative — it’s a community effort to protect wildlife, build connections and keep our waterways vibrant for generations to come.

Living Seawall Permit Fee Assistance Program

Living seawalls are shoreline protection structures that mimic natural habitats and offer a sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to coastal management by providing benefits that extend beyond a tidal barrier. The City of Fort Lauderdale has established a program to assist property owners with the base cost of City permit fees related to the installation of a qualifying living seawall.
