UPDATE: The City of Fort Lauderdale has LIFTED the precautionary advisory for water-related recreational activities in a small section of the Intracoastal Waterway (see map).
City of Fort Lauderdale crews are on the scene of an 18” sewer main break located at 741 Bayshore Drive. The leak has been stopped and there are no interruptions to sewer service.
Motorists are advised to detour around the area and pedestrians are advised to avoid standing water at the site of the sewer main break.
The City of Fort Lauderdale, in consultation with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, is issuing a precautionary advisory to avoid water-related recreational activities in the area.
Swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, and other water-related activities should be avoided in a section of the Intracoastal Waterway in the vicinity of 741 Bayshore Drive.
This precautionary advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
