Intersection at E. Las Olas Boulevard and S.E. 3rd Avenue to Temporarily Close June 17th from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fort Lauderdale, FL – The City of Fort Lauderdale Transportation and Mobility Department, in coordination with the Broward County Traffic Engineering Division, will temporarily close the intersection at E. Las Olas Boulevard and S.E. 3rd Avenue on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. to touch up the painted intersection. As a result, the S.E. 3rd Avenue Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic, but will remain accessible to boaters, pedestrians, and bicyclists.  The detours for this closure are as follows:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on E. Las Olas Boulevard will be detoured north to S.E. 2 Street via S.E. 2 Avenue.
  • Motorists traveling westbound on E. Las Olas Boulevard will be detoured north to S.E. 2 Street via S.E. 5 Avenue. 
  • Motorists traveling southbound on S.E. 3rd Avenue will be detoured to S. Andrews Avenue via S.E. 2 Street.
  • Motorists traveling northbound on S.E. 3rd Avenue will be detoured to S. Andrews Avenue via S.E. 6 Street.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid traffic delays in and around the restricted area. Motorists are also remindedVision Zero FTL logo to proceed with caution throughout the detour areas to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and other motorists. By slowing down, paying attention, being visible, being predictable, crossing at crosswalks, yielding to pedestrians, and never driving, walking, or biking distracted or under the influence citizens can help achieve zero traffic fatalities or serious on our streets and save lives.
