DESCRIPTION:<p>The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, will conduct a Public Information Workshop regarding the improvements along the SR 816/Oakland Park Blvd. corridor. This workshop will have an open house format, with representatives available to answer questions. Design plans and project information will be available for public viewing. Please stop by the workshop at your convenience. </p><p>Meeting Details: <br>Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 <br>5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. <br>United Church of Christ Fort Lauderdale <br>The Elliott Hall <br>2501 Northeast 30th Street <br>Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306 <br><br>The proposed improvements include: <br>- Constructing designated bike lanes or shared lanes (sharrows) in the City of Lauderhill on Inverrary Blvd, W. Environ Blvd and NW 55th Ave. and in the city of Fort Lauderdale on Middle River Dr., NW 32 ST, NW 30 Ave., Access Road W., Access Road E., NW 33 Ave. S., NE 30 St., and N. Atlantic Blvd. <br>- Modifying and relocating drainage structures and regarding swale areas impacted by roadway widening - Constructing new sidewalks and ADA upgrades <br>- Installing Transit Signal Priority equipment at intersections to allow transit buses signal timing efficiency. This element is being coordinated with Broward County <br><br>Construction is scheduled to begin in Fall 2020 with anticipated completion in Winter 2021. The estimated cost of construction for these improvements is $3.6 million. <br><br>This project is a partnership between FDOT, Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the city of Lauderhill and the city of Fort Lauderdale. The MPO is investing over $300 million to create safer, healthier communities in Broward County.
